Keppel Segher’s newest waste-to-energy plant at Tuas South has achieved a safety milestone of half a million manhours worked without lost time incident since the commencement of the project in October 2006.

The plant which is the first to be built under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative crossed the major milestone on 13 June 2008.

The project team reiterated its commitment to work towards protecting the environment by adopting best practices on resource utilisation, waste minimisation and performing work in an occupationally healthy and safe environment. They demonstrated their dedication by signing on a Safety Pledge specially designed for the occasion.

Keppel Seghers was awarded the 25-year Design-Build-Own-Operate contract by the National Environment Agency. The project is on schedule to be completed in 2009.
