Dutch Economic Minister H.E. Mrs Maria Van der Hoeven visited the Keppel Seghers Ulu Pandan NEWater Plant on 23 October 2009 with a delegation comprising officials from the Dutch Ministry of Economy Affairs and the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency.

Keppel Integrated Engineering (KIE) Deputy Chairman, Mr Michael Chia and senior management hosted the visit for the international guests. Making a humorous quip, Mr Chia remarked, “The Netherlands has too much water, while Singapore has too little.”

During the meeting, the group brainstormed on future possibilities of working together, especially with respect to water technologies and solutions. This was in view of the rising need for sustainable global water solutions and the complementary expertise possessed by Keppel and Dutch companies.
