Keppel Integrated Engineering (KIE), the environmental technology and engineering arm of Keppel Corporation, has received notification of tender award by the Qatar Government to design and build an integrated solid waste management facility in Qatar and to operate and maintain the facility for 20 years. The total value of the contracts is QR 3.9 billion (about S$1.7 billion).

KIE is presently finalising the contracts and will disclose further details when the contracts are signed.

The contracts will not have a significant impact on the net tangible assets and earnings per share of Keppel Corporation Limited for the financial year ending 31 December 2006.
